Once we have learned a little more about the project, we will next set about forming a strategic brief whilst defining the services that you may require from us. This will be accompanied by a fee proposal/ strategy so that you fully understand what we can offer and the associated costs. This will be accompanied by information on the next steps, information required and other consultants and services that will likely be required.
Following an agreed scope of works, we will next look to conduct a thorough and engaging design study. The fun bit! This allows us to fully investigate the property and/or site possibilities. This will consider all aspects of a project, from planning constraints to a project budget. Whilst developing and evolving your brief, this design study allows us to test ideas prior to formalising a design, making sure that the proposals meet and hopefully exceed your expectations.
After we have developed and agreed upon an appropriate design, we will start to form a suitable package of drawings and documents to obtain an appropriate planning consent. This will vary depending upon the scale, nature and type of project, other permissions such as, “Listed Building Consent” may be required. Together and sometimes with additional consultants we will apply our experience to form a package of information to offer the best opportunity to obtain any required consents.
Once we have the relevant permissions, the next step is to develop a technical design which explores in greater detail how a project will be constructed. Depending upon the scope of our appointment, this may entail a specification to assist with obtaining prices, a detailed package to ensure compliance with Building Regulations or full Tender / Construction package which provides a complete package of production information. As with all services this can be tailored to your requirements and will often depend upon factors such as project complexity and your level of experience and budget.
At TIDY we love to see a project through to completion and we offer a full suite of services which include site inspections and compliance monitoring. This again will be based upon your project/ requirements. Having us on board throughout construction can offer you a peace of mind that the project is being constructed as envisaged and in accordance with the drawings provided. We will also deal with ongoing site queries and ensure that the works continue to comply with any consents and current regulations.
